Beyond the medals, the message is clear: structured training and fair competition help young welders show real shop-floor skills under pressure. This final brought together apprentices and students who advanced through regional rounds, giving employers a clean view of talent ready for coded work and further qualifications.

Sponsors pointed to the UK’s welding skills gap and the need for consistent pathways from college to paid work. For the trade, that means more practice on fundamentals, safety and inspection, plus modern processes in line with industry demand.
