AWS has opened the page for Welding Summit 2026, a conference built around one of the most practical issues in fabrication today: how to keep code compliance aligned from design to execution. The event will be held on August 5–7, 2026 at The Woodlands Resort in Texas, and its headline theme is “Improving Welding Competency.”

The technical core looks clear and useful for welding professionals. AWS says the summit will break down requirements across ASME “B” Codes, ASME BPVC Section IX, ASME BPE, API 582 and 1104, and AWS D1.1, D1.6, and D18.1. The sessions are designed to connect those codes to real shop and field work, including welding procedures, welder qualification, NDE, and heat treatment.

The format also looks broader than a standard short seminar. AWS lists the program as 2½ days, with two one-hour keynotes, thirteen sessions in total, two luncheons in the exhibit hall, and an opening networking reception. Attendees can earn up to 18 PDHs, and AWS also lists a $100 student rate, which makes the event more reachable for younger people entering the trade through skill-based career paths.
