WELDIFY was officially presented at the 78th IIW Annual Assembly and International Conference in Genoa, held from 22 to 27 June 2025. IIW’s CEO, Luca Costa, presented the project to an audience of around 2,000 participants from the global welding and joining community.

Later in the year, WELDIFY was also shown at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025 in Essen (15–19 September). IIW hosted a dedicated Competence Hub, where Dr. Elisabetta Sciaccaluca (IIW Technical Manager) explained the project’s aims and approach.

🌐 WELDIFY Project at “Schweißen & Schneiden” 2025 in Essen, Germany The project “WELDIFY: Deep‑tech driven, inclusive, and socially‑aware circular material joining & welding for a safe future” was presented at Schweißen & Schneiden 2025, held in Essen from 15 to 19 September 2025. This world‑leading trade fair gathered over 220,000 visitors from more than 80 nations and hosted 948 exhibitors from 50 countries, confirming its status as a global hub for innovation in welding, cutting, and joining technologies. IIW participated with a dedicated Competence Hub, where WELDIFY was showcased and explained by Dr. Elisabetta Sciaccaluca, Technical Manager of IIW, who presented the project’s objectives, innovative approach, and expected impact. 🔧 WELDIFY aims to drive transformation in material joining and welding through deep‑tech solutions, circularity, inclusiveness, and a strong societal mission — paving the way for a safer and more sustainable industrial future. At its core, WELDIFY targets the skills gap in “circular material welding”—joining and welding where recycled and reused metals are more common. EWF describes it as an Erasmus+ project that uses inclusive training and an AI-supported digital platform, aiming to help current and future welders build practical, recognized skills.
