  • Date/venue: 30 September 2026, TWI Cambridge; press note dated 6 Nov 2025.
  • Topics: weld pool modelling, validation, micro-to-macro links, scaling to assemblies, benchmarking/standardisation.

TWI announced registrations for “Shaping the Future of Welding: Advances in Modelling and Simulation,” a one-day seminar co-organised with NAFEMS and chaired by TWI Principal Simulation & Modelling Engineer Dr. Anas Yaghi. The event will focus on how modelling supports design and production decisions, with sessions on current industrial challenges and the growing role of computational methods and AI.

Welding Modelling and Simulation Seminar
This seminar is designed for academics, industrial practitioners, simulation specialists, welding engineers, materials scientists, research students, and decision-makers in manufacturing sectors who wish to stay at the forefront of welding innovation.

The seminar is set for 30 September 2026 at TWI Cambridge. Planned topics include weld pool modelling, validation approaches, linking micro- to macro-scale behaviour, scaling models to full assemblies, and best practice in benchmarking and standardisation. A closing panel will look at future applications. The registration page and venue details are available via NAFEMS.
