SGS has acquired Qualitest, a Canada-based welding engineering company established in 2015, and will integrate the team into its Industrial Services division in North America. The move gives SGS extra capacity in material testing, failure analysis and concrete scanning, and supports its broader role in quality assurance and integrity management for critical infrastructure.

Qualitest operates from key industrial regions in Canada and serves energy, infrastructure, manufacturing and other heavy industries. Its portfolio includes CWB certification support, inspector training, pressure vessel inspection, pipeline integrity work and structural steel fabrication support, with a track record of thousands of safety-focused projects. SGS says the deal supports its Strategy 27 program, which targets growing demand for safety, health and infrastructure services as regulations tighten across the region.
