Summary

  • NARSA/IDEA and AWS sign a strategic partnership for welding.
  • Focus on training and certification for heat transfer and emissions work.
  • Plan includes workshops, best-practice guides and outreach to new technicians.

NARSA/IDEA, the international heat transfer association, has announced a strategic partnership with the American Welding Society (AWS), aiming to combine welding know-how with the needs of heavy-duty cooling, heat exchange and diesel emissions service. The plan is to build welding education and certification paths that fit the real work of radiator, heat exchanger and emissions component shops. Key topics include aluminum welding, copper-brass brazing, precision repair and other technologies used in thermal management and emissions control.

The partnership will also look at co-branded workshops and hands-on clinics, shared guidelines and safety standards, and cross-promotion of training and certification offers. On top of that, both sides want to exchange speakers at events and run joint outreach to bring more new technicians into welding and related trades.

About NARSA: NARSA/IDEA is the international trade association for the heat transfer and diesel emissions industries, providing technical education, networking, business development, and industry advocacy for radiator shops, manufacturers, distributors, and service specialists around the world.
