IPG Photonics Corporation has officially closed its acquisition of Clean-Lasersysteme GmbH (cleanLASER), marking a strategic step into the expanding field of laser cleaning solutions. The Marlborough, Massachusetts-based fiber laser giant is adding a key player to its portfolio, strengthening its ability to deliver advanced, eco-friendly alternatives to traditional industrial cleaning methods.
With roots in Herzogenrath, Germany, cleanLASER has been among the most important players in laser cleaning technology since 1997, boasting a solid reputation and a global installed base of 2,000 systems. The company’s innovative products serve industries ranging from automotive and aerospace to food processing and medical manufacturing. With approximately $30 million in annual revenue, cleanLASER brings market reach and specialized expertise that complement IPG’s existing capabilities.
Dr. Mark Gitin, CEO of IPG Photonics, framed the acquisition as a move to expand IPG’s influence in growing markets. “This alignment furthers our mission to provide cost-effective and environmentally sustainable solutions,” he said, emphasizing the synergy between the two companies.
