Foresight Group has announced an investment in Welding Engineers, a long-standing industrial door specialist that handles service, repair, maintenance, fabrication and installation work across the UK.

The company started in Glasgow in the 1960s as a family business and has grown into a leading provider of industrial door services, employing around 180 people across six regional branches. This branch network gives it national reach while keeping engineers close to local sites. Foresight describes the deal as its fifth new Scottish SME investment in 2025, underlining its focus on smaller regional businesses.

To date, Foresight has invested over £60 million into growing companies in Scotland across all sectors and transaction types, which has created over 170 local high quality jobs. Our recent investments include Mclaggan + Co, Graham + Sibbald, MyWay Digital Health and uFraction8.

The plan is to use the investment to support Welding Engineers’ growth through strategic acquisitions in what Foresight calls a fragmented market, while building on the company’s existing reputation for expertise, reliability and quality.
