ESAB & Aramco: 2025 Partnership for Future Welders
Summary
- ESAB and Aramco signed an MoU during MECC 2025 in Dhahran.
- Focus areas: local manufacturing, training, advanced welding, sustainability.
- ESAB also highlighted a new electrode plant in Al Ahsa this year.
ESAB says it strengthened its partnership with Aramco at the 19th Middle East Corrosion Conference & Exhibition (Nov 11–13, Dhahran). The company served as a Silver Sponsor and joined a ceremony where Aramco signed MoUs with several suppliers and partners.

The ESAB–Aramco MoU outlines four goals: enhance local manufacturing and supply chain resilience; support operational excellence with advanced welding and fabrication; promote knowledge transfer and technical training; and drive sustainability and innovation in processes and materials. These points align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 localisation aims.
ESAB added that earlier in 2025 it opened an electrode production facility in Al Ahsa, positioning more filler metal capacity inside the Kingdom. While Aramco signed multiple MoUs at the event, this one sits in the welding lane (skills, procedures and supply) all practical levers for shop performance.
