Hyundai Welding is taking a major step forward in supporting India’s industrial growth with the announcement of its upcoming manufacturing facility, Chennstar Private Limited, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Slated to begin operations in October 2025, this facility will be a critical addition to the company’s global network and a milestone in Hyundai Welding’s localization strategy.

The Chennai facility will focus on producing high-quality Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) solutions, tailored to meet the unique demands of the Indian market. By manufacturing locally, Hyundai Welding aims to reduce lead times, improve accessibility, and provide cost-effective solutions to its Indian customers. This move also supports the “Make in India” policy, reinforcing the country’s push towards domestic manufacturing.

Hyundai Welding has positioned itself as the first foreign welding consumables manufacturer to achieve the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) license for FCAW and GMAW in India. This not only sets a new standard for quality in the industry but also reflects the company’s commitment to empowering Indian manufacturers and fabricators with cutting-edge, reliable welding solutions.
