ESAB Launches OK Goldrox 7018 Electrodes for Easier Welding
In a move that caters to both seasoned professionals and occasional welders, ESAB has unveiled the OK Goldrox 7018, a premium low-hydrogen Stick electrode designed to make welding more accessible and efficient. With softer arc characteristics, improved restrikes, and exceptional arc stability, OK Goldrox is set to make welding out of position and post-weld cleaning smoother than ever. Its fast-freezing slag offers enhanced control, while the easy slag detachability ensures a cleaner finish.
“OK Goldrox bridges the gap for welders who prefer softer arcs compared to the stronger arc of Atom Arc 7018,” says Kaar Valluvan, ESAB’s Director of Product Marketing. Here’s how they stated their claims: ¨Whether you’re just starting or a seasoned hand, OK Goldrox delivers easier puddle manipulation, wider operating range, and reliability in demanding applications.¨
According to the brand, specifically tailored for U.S. industries like structural steel, petrochemicals, and power generation, OK Goldrox 7018 meets rigorous standards with its AWS E7018-1 H4R classification. Its low diffusible hydrogen content and moisture-resistant properties make it ideal for preventing cold cracking and porosity in critical applications.
By the way, I should point out that I couldn’t find the product on ESAB’s website. I wonder why the product they announced isn’t listed in the category where it’s supposed to be.
