I remember that just five years ago, we rarely heard any news about 3D printing technology. Naturally, the welding industry couldn’t be left out of that trend. I think we’ve reached where we are today with a lot of momentum. I wanted to take a moment to look together at MX3D’s new project, which stood out at Formnext - Hub for Additive Manufacturing, one of the key trade shows in the industry.

WAAM - Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing is now among the key applications in our industry. Our limits are still unknown. This Pulper Screw project I came across this week is just one of the new examples.

The “Pulper screw” for the heavy processing industry was robotic 3D metal printed using 316L stainless steel supplied by Welding Alloys Group. This isn’t just another metal print job; the process itself is a testament to how advanced additive manufacturing is transforming traditionally bulky components into customized, performance-driven products.
